The City of Powers Lake is accepting applications for a Chief of Police.

The City of Powers Lake is accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. Starting salary is DOE. Benefits include vacation, sick leave, NDPERS-LE Retirement, $780 for single and $1,000 for family additional gross pay in lieu of health insurance, housing is provided to the Chief of Police. The Chief of Police is responsible for officers of the Department, scheduling, departmental policy, attending monthly city council meetings, inventory of all equipment, maintaining community relations and many other duties. All equipment to perform duties are provided such as uniforms, duty belt and equipment, sidearm, rifle, shotgun, vest, body camera, and a take home patrol car. Applicants must be willing to relocate and reside within the City of Powers Lake. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED). Applicants must have a valid North Dakota driver's license or able to obtain one at time of hire, be ND POST Certified. Candidates should have at least 3 years of Law Enforcement experience. Candidates must pass a physical and psychological test as well as criminal history and background checks. Applications are available at www.powerslakend.com.
